Technical Overview
Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) needle felt is a high-performance, non-woven filtration fabric manufactured through a precise needling process. Engineered for demanding high-temperature filtration applications where chemical resistance and thermal stability are paramount.

  • Excellent Thermal Stability: Maintains dimensional stability and mechanical integrity in continuous operating temperatures up to 190°C (374°F), with short-term exposure resistance up to 232°C (450°F)
  • Outstanding Chemical Resistance: Remarkable resistance to acids, alkalis, and organic solvents, making it suitable for filtering chemically aggressive flue gases. Inherently hydrolytic stable
  • Flame Retardancy: Inherently flame-resistant, meeting various industry standards for fire safety
  • Filtration Performance: Dense, porous structure with high filtration efficiency for fine particulate matter, achieving low emissions. Surface treatments can further enhance dust release and efficiency
Primary Applications
PPS needle felt is the filter media of choice for baghouses and cartridge filters in the following industries:

Important Operational Limitation
PPS is not suitable for environments with high oxygen (>15%) content at elevated temperatures (above 140°C/284°F), as it can undergo oxidative degradation. Its performance against certain strong oxidizing agents is also limited.
